Vigna di Sessina is the unique terroir chosen by Dievole, a wine producer since 1090, to create its Grand Selection. The soil rich in skeleton, originates from a sandstone known as “Macigno” which gives the wine a unique elegance and freshness. Intense hints of cherry and violet guide the tasting until a pleasant and persistent aftertaste.

Winemaking Process

The vinification initiates with a spontaneous fermentation developed in 75 Hl natural cement tanks only with indigenous yeast, for 14-15 days at a controlled temperature of 28°C. The malolactic fermentation starts in a natural way. The aging process is made in untoasted 41 Hl French oak casks for about 17 months. The bottle aging lasts for at least 4 months.

Deep red ruby.
Bouquet:
Intense and developes aromas of ripe red fruits,notes of violets.
Taste:
excellent minerality and acidity, full body wine with wellbalanced tannins. A predominance of ripe red fruits such as cherry and blackcurrant.
Pairing:
Ideal with cheese, game meat and grilled meat.
