Vineyard renewal of the 54 hectares currently producing wines, at an average altitude of 300 metres above sea level and subdivided into 16 lots of differing enological value according to terrain, exposure to the sun and microclimate, was completed some time ago. A further 25 hectares will start producing grapes over the next three years, making a total vineyard area of 79 hectares with a marked predominance of Sangiovese at more than 85% of total production. Native grape varieties such as Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo and Colorino and international varieties such as Merlot and Petit Verdot are also present in the vineyards.
A feature of all our vineyards is its extremely rocky soil full of pebbles and stones, particularly galestro (schist based soil), albarese (limestone) and tufa, which are the main soil types in our area.
Our cellars are equipped with concrete and steel tanks for fermentation and truncated conical casks made of Slavonian oak and French oak barrels for ageing.
