I.g.t. “Broccato” 2006

Broccato is composed of 85% Sangiovese, 12% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot. Our selection Broccato is a blend of Dievole’s best grapes from the vineyards of Campinuovi and Madonnino. In order to obtain the best quality these grapes have been harvested by hand in baskets in mid September.

Exposure: south, south-west.
Soil: marl, alberese and calcareous.
Training method: cordon spur
Vineyard density: average of 5.000 plants per hectare.

Ageing
We keep the wine in 1st,2nd and 3rd year French and American Barriques for about 8 months. Final ageing in 8.000lt.Vat-casks for about 6 months. The bottle ageing is for about 6 months.

Vinification
The maceration is made in oak Vat-casks of 8000 lt. for 15-20 days. The pre-maceration is made for 3 days at 5°. The maceration continue until 28-30°. The post-maceration is for a week at 28-30°. The malo lactic fermentation occurs spontaneously.

Description
Colour: intense ruby, deep and concentrate with a touch of violets.
Fragrance: fruity – plums, cherry, vanilla and spicy, tomato leaf
Taste: ripe, dry, full body, tannic and soft..
Serving suggestion: grill meat, seasoned cheeses.
Serving Temperature: 18 – 20°C – to open two hours before consuming.
Produced bottles: 15.000 (0,750 lt.),1.500 ( 0,375 lt.),500 (1,5 lt.)
Packaging: 6 bottles in wooden case (0,750 lt - bottles). Cardboard cases of 12 for 0,375 lt bottles. Every Magnum in its single wooden case.
